CHITTOOR DISTRICT FORMATION DAY LECTURE

The Academy has instituted the Chittoor District Formation Day Lecture in the year 2011, on the eve of the Centenary Celebrations of the Chittoor District (1911-2011). The recipient of the Chittoor District Centenary Visishta Ratna Award will deliver the Chittoor District Formation Day Lecture every year on 1 April, i.e., the formation day of the Chittoor District. The main aim of the Chittoor District Formation Day Lecture is to map the spectrum of new vision for inspiring journey as role model district in Andhra Pradesh.

CHITTOOR DISTRICT CENTENARY AWARDS

Chittoor District is one of the largest districts in India. The district has played a leading role in Indian freedom struggle and gifted many legendary personalities and gifted many eminent policy makers, presiding officers, world renowned educationalists, philosophers, jurists, doctors and literary scholars to the nation as well as state, include the President and Vice-President of India, Deputy Speaker and Speaker of Lok Sabha, Premiers of Madras Presidency, Speakers, Deputy Speakers, and Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh.

Chittoor District was constituted on 1st April 1911 by carving out some areas from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka regions. Chittoor District has completed 100 years of its existence on 1st April, 2011, as separate district. To mark the occasion, the Academy has instituted the following Awards (established Year of the respective awards is in parenthesis).

Name of the Award and Established Year

The awards are being conferred every year on 1 April, the formation day of the district on eminent personalities of the Chittoor District, who have contributed remarkable and commendable services for its growth and development, after duly selected and recommended by the Awards Jury headed by Dr. Subhash C. Kashyap, eminent Constitutional expert and Former Secretary-General of Lok Sabha, New Delhi. The recipient of the Chittoor District Centenary Visishta Ratna Award will deliver the Chittoor District Formation Day Lecture at a Special Function on 1st April every year at Tirupati/ Chittoor.

AGRASRI FOUNDATION DAY LECTURE

The Academy of Grassroots Studies and Research of India (AGRASRI), has instituted the AGRASRI Foundation Day Lecture in the year 2002 and it is being organised every year on the formation day of AGRASRI, i.e., 12 November or other suitable day, in Tirupati, with one-day Workshop/Round-Table on thematic issues of contemporary Andhra Pradesh state politics and governance.
